The Worst Christmas Of My Life!

Rate this Entry
If you have been following my "Bad Luck Streak"...here's the continuations to my real life stories.

(Good to know...I have one thing in my life that is consistent ...lol. (Not really funny...that's my dry sarcasm talking...try to make light joke of my situation in attempt to learn the pain it caused now that I've pulled myself together from what happened.)

So Christmas day....I spent alone...I don't have any close family...lost my kids in a Domestic violent relationship. (Another sad story for another day) I was in Seattle and since I'm new to the area I don't have any friends in the area. But with my history with friends...its safer for me to not have friends...being alone seems to be the safer bet for me. So I spent the day being available for work. Unfortunately, Christmas is a holiday when everyone spends with their family and loved ones. So I knew it would be a slow day and it was. I had only a few prospects that contacted me but later in the evening one client contacted me wanting an appt the ranged about $1000. I thought it was finally a lucky break. So I passed up on any other appts that inquired to see me cuz it was a longer app% that I was preparing for. Anyways, after getting ready...I waited for the appt and they contacted me saying they got into a fender bender and still was on the way, but just behind schedule. So I waited patiently and them they again contact me asking for a favor....saying they would call an uber except they share an account with their wife n didn't want to explain where they were going that late at night. Ask if I would get them the ride and they would add it to their payment to me. I figured it's fine, they pay me back...
I ended up having issues with paying for the uber cuz I was already low on fund and didn't have enough to pay for my place the following day, which was why it was already a strenuous situation for me. But I was able to gather $25 from a couple different debit cards I had, but the uber app wasn't accepting my prepaid cards so I ended up buying a gift card to pay for his ride. At this point it's like 2 hours behind schedule, but kept thinking to myself it's a slow day already and this was going to be worth all the extra effort it's taking to see this client. So he finally gets to my place, took a quick shower and we instantly we hit it off. He was nice, well manner, polite, and overall respectable gentleman. So when I checked to see if the funds was in my account And questioned him about it. He instantly said he send me a copy of the confirmation. Now I offer a bunch of different forms of payment, but he asked to use Zelle which is one that I don't have experience in using. So I was taking his word when he told me that due to me not ever using it that it required me to call in and verify my account and once verified then it would show up in my account. I had a weird feeling and of course that rose a red flag in my mind, but he offered to go to the bank and get cash for me and instantly I thought in my head that I could drive him to the bank to make sure he didn't run off with out pay me...then I remembered I lent my car to a friend that showed up in town last minute. I contacted my friend and asked where they were and gave them the run down of the situation and they said it should be ok. And just to cal first thing in the morning. The way he presented himself didn't seem like the average dirtbag. So another strike on my part (judging a book by it's cover) Then afterward I asked if he's going to need another ride home and he said yes, but I explained the trouble I would have to go thru to do it...and then realized I was out of money and unable to get it and he said its ok. That he just realized he could open a Lyft account that isn't connected to his wife.So he left and I looked over the confirmation email he send me right away and when I started looking over it. i noticed a few mistakes be made like misspelling of words and the size of the fonts where he added my email and the amount that was suppose to be transferred. He said he read my blog n felt bad for me so he would even added extra to the payment to help with my luck. Which I thought was extremely nice.(Man, I feel like a fool)
To say the least I contacted him probably within 10 mins of him leaving asking if he had left and how I would like to take him to the bank...but no response. I knew he was getting my messages cuz I have a notification on my phone that confirms when the message is delivered to their phone and then when its read. So I knew at that point he scammed me and wasn't planning to pay me.

So that was my great Christmas...now like I said I didn't have any more money to get a room so I had to pack up n try to figure out how to get money together to get another room. So if anyone wonders why it takes me so long before I get checked in....well its because I had to figure out how to gather enough funds to pay for a place cuz I've been living from day to day just barely being able to pay for necessities. I don't go out and get my nails done or get pampered anymore...I hardly even eat out anymore other than fast food or hotdogs from the gas stations...

Trust me I ask myself how much more can I take living like this everyday....I'm ready to give up, but keep hoping this New Year will be different. That's the only thing that's keeping me going. Hopefully I can write how my life changed from rags to riches. Everyday I set out in hopes it will be the day my life will change. I guess that's all I can really do.

I’m so sorry to hear that love!
Ican commiserate with you, as I was just blackmailed and robbed to the tune of $400+ in Vancouver, WA, by a con artist posing as a provider. I’m new to this forum and don’t know how to alert people to avoid this scam.
It left me pretty shaken and demoralized. I should have seen several red flags, but was excited to make a connection, and it cost me.
I for one, hope you have total insight in 2020, and find happiness, safe companionship, and peace of mind.
